Dry Eye Syndrome

Dry eye syndrome can lead to slight irritation or to ocular inflammation of the eye's tissue. The most common symptoms of dry eye syndrome are persistent dryness, an insatiable scratching, the feeling as if something is stuck in your eye, or a burning of the eyes. If you demonstrate any or all of these symptoms, you may require a measurement of the amount of tears in your eyes. This can easily be measured by a thin strip of filter paper placed at the edge of the eye.

Diabetic Eye Disease

Diabetes, especially after prolonged duration, may produce diabetic retinopathy in some patients.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration is an incurable eye disease that affects over 10 million Americans. Macular degeneration is the result of a deterioration of the central portion of the retina. The retina records the images we see and sends these images to the brain. The retina's central portion, referred to as the macula, focuses the central vision of the eye.
